A letter from Adam Weiss, CEO regarding JCC Mask Policy emailed to the community on February 18, 2022

Dear Friends:

We have been carefully tracking the COVID data and the numbers in our community have improved significantly. As a result, starting Saturday, February 19 (this weekend), masks will no longer be required in the fitness center, gymnasium, pool area, common spaces, or locker rooms. In group fitness classes, mask policies will be set on a case-by-case basis, at the discretion of the instructor. Classes in which masks are required will be denoted by an icon on the schedule and on the website. For now, masks will still be required (children and staff) in our Early Childhood Center and after-school programs (where we will follow the mask-wearing directions set by local public schools). Thanks to all of you for your cooperation as we continue to navigate the evolving COVID landscape and do what we can to keep all members of our community as safe as possible.

If you haven’t been to the Shames JCC lately, we have lots of new activities for all ages, and a lot more programming in the works. If you drifted away during the pandemic, I hope you’ll wander back. If you’ve never been a member, I hope you’ll take the time to learn more about who we are and what we offer. At the very least, please stay connected because we have ambitious plans and we don’t want you to miss out.

We’d also like your input. The link below will lead you to a brief, 2-minute survey. By completing it, you will help inform our goals and priorities, and ensure that the JCC is responding to the needs and interests of our community. Plus, respondents will automatically be entered into a lottery and one lucky winner will get a Shames JCC mug… and free coffee at our new lobby coffee bar for life!
