Rev It Up

4 Wednesdays, April 3-24; 12:15-1:00 pm

Want to take your running to the next level? Whether you need motivation or running tools to apply to your next race, this class will help you achieve your goals! Taught by Laura Kovall, ten-time marathon completer, the program will pair a 30-minute treadmill run followed by body weight strengthening exercises that will aid in overall running performance and help reduce the chance of injury. Each week will focus on a different running skill.

MELT Performance

Are you ready to take your Pickleball game to the next level? Get more ease in your tennis and/or golf swing? Improve your swimming or running times? Feel better in your body while you improve your athletic performance?

Try MELT Performance. This series will be a combination of fascial hydration with the MELT soft tools and moves that help improve muscle timing and increase strength, stability, and mobility. You’ll also rebalance your nervous system, leading to improved recovery and resilience.

Israeli Folk Dancing

8 Fridays, March 22-May 10; 12:00-1:00 pm

If you can grapevine, you can do Israeli dancing! Originally developed as a way to bind people with a common purpose, Israeli dance reflects an attachment to the land, spirit, and nature of Israel, as well as the Hebrew language.

In this 8-week session taught by JCC folk dance teacher, Steve Steiner, you’ll learn a variety of dances from different points in history, including before the state of Israel was created. Most are danced in a circle and include some hand-holding. This class is open to everyone – no experience necessary!

Introduction to Reiki

Sunday, April 7; 12:30-1:45 pm

If you have ever wondered about Reiki, this demo is just for you. Come join our AiChi instructor Regina DeCarlo, who is also an RMT (Reiki Master Teacher), for a 75 minute reiki circle. Here, you will get an overview of the system of reiki and have the opportunity to experience reiki energy. Reiki is a centering technique that includes meditation to promote relaxation.

International Folk Dancing with Steve Steiner

8 Fridays, March 15-May 3; 11:00 am-12:00 pm

$40 members/$60 non-members

Join us for an eight-week exploration of international folk dancing! Each class will include a selection of dances from around the world including the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, and the US. Most dances include holding hands in a circle or line, while other dances will be partner dances or freestyle (no hands). The class is geared for beginners but the difficulty of the dances will depend on the experience and comfort of participants.

Intro to Belly Dance Series

Wednesdays, Feb. 21-March 27; 6:30-7:30 pm

$60 for members; $80 for non-members

Our new belly dance series led by Pelin Qualben will introduce you to this traditional Middle Eastern and Turkish dance technique, music, and culture Over a 6-week period, participants will develop the ability to showcase proper posture, engage muscles with technique precision, maintain body alignment, and execute transitions. They will gain confidence and accuracy in performing movements and combinations. Above all, the classes are designed to be fun, entertaining, and a great way to let the day go.

R&B/Soul Line Dancing with the Fun Bunch

End your week with this uplifting and joyful class! Beloved teacher Steve “Fun Bunch” Dillard will break down easy line dances that allow everyone to learn at a comfortable pace while improving their memory and balance. Have fun and get a great workout! All levels welcome.

West African Dance Series with Live Drumming

West African dance with Gladys Lowe provides a complete body workout while giving students the freedom to express themselves to the powerful beat of live drumming. Each step is broken down so that all students, including those who have never danced before, can learn while having fun. Students will build confidence around their body movements and the lively traditional dance rhythms. About the Instructor: Gladys Lowe is originally from Cameroon and some of her recent experiences include being a program instructor at The Paige Fraser Foundation in the Bronx, Westchester Dance Artists, the Bethany Art Center, Addi-tude Cultural Arts, and other venues in the Hudson Valley.

Movement Intelligence: Feldenkrais Principles in Practice

Join Feldenkrais Practitioner Doron Tadmor and delve into the fundamental biomechanical principles underlying efficient movement. By exploring the dynamics of ground forces, weight distribution, and body alignment, participants uncover pathways to move more powerfully, with greater ease and fluidity. By engaging in mindful movement explorations, participants discover subtle adjustments that optimize efficiency, reduce strain, and enhance overall movement quality.
