They will gain confidence and accuracy in performing movements and combinations. Above all, the classes are designed to be fun, entertaining, and a great way to let the day go.

MELT Performance

Try MELT Performance. This series will be a combination of fascial hydration with the MELT soft tools and moves that help improve muscle timing and increase strength, stability, and mobility. You’ll also rebalance your nervous system, leading to improved recovery and resilience.

Israeli Folk Dancing

If you can grapevine, you can do Israeli dancing! Originally developed as a way to bind people with a common purpose, Israeli dance reflects an attachment to the land, spirit, and nature of Israel, as well as the Hebrew language.

In this 8-week session taught by JCC folk dance teacher, Steve Steiner, you’ll learn a variety of dances from different points in history, including before the state of Israel was created. Most are danced in a circle and include some hand-holding. This class is open to everyone – no experience necessary!

West African Dance Series with Live Drumming

West African dance with Gladys Lowe provides a complete body workout while giving students the freedom to express themselves to the powerful beat of live drumming. Each step is broken down so that all students, including those who have never danced before, can learn while having fun. Students will build confidence around their body movements and the lively traditional dance rhythms. About the Instructor: Gladys Lowe is originally from Cameroon and some of her recent experiences include being a program instructor at The Paige Fraser Foundation in the Bronx, Westchester Dance Artists, the Bethany Art Center, Addi-tude Cultural Arts, and other venues in the Hudson Valley.

International Folk Dancing with Steve Steiner

Join us for an eight-week exploration of international folk dancing! Each class will include a selection of dances from around the world including the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, and the US. Most dances include holding hands in a circle or line, while other dances will be partner dances or freestyle (no hands). The class is geared for beginners but the difficulty of the dances will depend on the experience and comfort of participants.
