Generation Forward

Youth Volunteer Program

Generation Forward (Grades 9–12)

Is your teen looking for meaningful ways to get involved with and give back to the community? In Generation Forward, teens will engage in volunteerism with local nonprofits and will learn about pressing social issues of our time. Our 2024 spring session will focus on children and families and will involve collaboration with Camp Erin, Alexandra’s Playground, Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, DocGo, and The Linus Project.  Teens can earn up to 25 certified hours of community service and will feel informed, inspired, and empowered to continue to make the world a better place.

Generation Forward Jr. (Grades 6–8)

Select Sundays, January–April

Do you have a 6th-8th grader looking for an opportunity to give back to the community? Our NEW Generation Forward Jr. program will engage youth in volunteering with local nonprofits and learning about pressing social issues of our time. Our 2024 spring session will kick off with the JCC-wide MLK Day of Service event and will also involve collaboration with organizations including The Linus Project and Neighbor’s Link. Participants will receive 16 certified hours of community service, and will feel informed, inspired, and empowered to help to make the world a better place.
