Meet Our Oldest (and one of our most impressive) Member: Toni Ficalora
Two weeks ago, the Shames JCC community was lucky to have a special guest for our Member Mingle, 97.5-year old Toni Ficalora. We heard excerpts from his life story—from his youth in Brooklyn, to his days as a photographer in the US Navy (he was able to take photographs of a kamikaze attack on his ship), to his impressive career in advertising working with some of the largest agencies like J. Walter Thompson and Young & Rubicam. Here is a small selection of some documents and news clippings he has accumulated over the years and the video of him speaking at the Member Mingle (please forgive the quality, it was taken using an iPhone!).
