Are you a World War II buff?  Bring your thoughts, questions, and curiosity while we explore these extraordinary stories together in our new peer-led book club! Each month, a different member will choose the book (under 400 pages), sparking fresh perspectives and lively discussions.

Improv Comedy Class

6 Tuesdays, September 22–October 27; 1:30–3:00 pm
$60 for members; $80 for non-members for the series

Have fun this summer learning improv games and exercises that will spark your imagination, inspire creativity, and build problem-solving, and communication skills. You’ll create on-the-spot actions, characters, sounds, movements, and scenes designed to build positive group dynamics and trust.

About the instructor: Andy Wainer has studied, taught, performed and directed improv for over 30 years. A retired educator and career counselor, Andy has taught all levels of students as well as at organizations such as area libraries, Westchester Community College, Make a Wish Foundation and more.

Watercolors and More with Renee Shamosh

Enjoy painting in a fun and relaxed setting! Whether you want to learn about mixing colors, perfect your painting techniques, or just enjoy a night out with friends, this class will focus on the basics of watercolor painting and explore additional materials to enhance your work. All levels welcome and all supplies are provided.

Gel Plate Printmaking Series

4 Tuesdays September 29–October 20; 12:30-2:30 pm
$100 for members; $125 non-members

Discover the magic of gel plate printmaking with artist John Rosis. A gel plate is a flexible and reusable surface that produces unique, hand-pressed mono-prints. Layer stencils, leaves, string, grasses, and more to explore bold abstract designs or representational imagery; the possibilities are endlessly surprising. No experience needed, all materials included.

Adult Ukulele

4 Mondays, October 5-26; 6:00–7:00 pm

Join Jill Geddes and our community of ukulele enthusiasts in as we strum our way through simple, popular songs. Open to all levels, the focus is on fun in this relaxed and supportive class. Basic knowledge of the ukulele is helpful but all players are welcome! An instrument will be provided or you may bring your own.

Acrylic Painting Foundations

More dates coming this fall!

Teaching artist Erin Carney will cover composition, color mixing, value and color development, and a variety of paint application strategies and techniques. Participants will complete in-class studies as well as self-guided painting. This class is for everyone, whether you’re just starting, dusting off, or amplifying your painting practice.
