Happy Mother’s Day
Eventhough we can’t go to our traditional Mother’s Day brunches, that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate Mom, Grandma, and caregivers this weekend. Our experts offer fun, easy ways to make this day special—from breakfast recipes, homemade jewelry and bags, and even a live workout class.
Make Mom Breakfast
Kayla Reisman, Director of Youth and Teen Engagement and Program Director at Camp Twelve Trails shares two VERY easy recipes kids can make (they don’t require chopping or cooking so even young kids can do this!). Make them on Saturday so you can be sure Mom or your someone special has a delicious treat on Sunday morning.
Make a Friendship Bracelet
Diamonds don’t compare to handmade jewelry made with love. Kayla shares one of her favorite camp activities—making friendship bracelets—that you can make for your Mom, Grandma, or Bestie!
Shopping Bag from Recycled T-Shirt
Give the gift of an adorable tote using a recycled t-shirt (be sure to pick one with a cute pattern and make it special—no dirty old undershirts for Mom). These totes were a hit at our MLK Day of Service event. They don’t require any sewing and can be thrown directly in the washing machine when coming back from shopping trips. For Tweens, Teens, and Adults: Make a Digital Card
Can’t get to the store to buy a card or the post office to mail one in time for Mother’s Day? Send a customized digital card! Allison Gangi of the Discover neighborhood at Camp Twelve Trails shows you how to use Canva, a free design software, to make beautiful digital cards.
