A Message from Peter Boritz, Chair of the Board of Governors
Dear Shames JCC Members and Friends,
I am writing to you today to ask for your support.
Since March, we have been working tirelessly to steer the Shames JCC through the unprecedented and rapidly changing pandemic landscape. We have been confronted with heartbreaking decisions and harsh realities. Every choice and every action has been made to protect the health and safety of every member of our community and to survive this crisis so we can once again provide the services and programs that our community relies upon to elevate their lives.
As New York State is embarking on a reopening plan, we too are determining when and how we can reopen our doors with new guidelines, health precautions, and safety measures in place. It is our steadfast hope that despite the realities of a very different financial framework given the dramatic loss in revenue over the past several months, we can reopen our doors and offer a modified yet robust list of the services and opportunities that have been the cornerstone of our organization for years.
We need your help now more than ever.
Our entire community is indebted to those of you who have been able to support us with your membership dollars as a tax deductible donation over the last three months. We are also grateful to those of you who have frozen your membership for a donated fee. But, we are not there yet. The future of the JCC depends on additional contributions. We ask that members and program participants who are able to give, support us during this critical time. All contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
We remain hopeful that we can reach out to you soon with good news and a detailed plan for relaunching our beloved organization.
Thank you for your support,
Peter Boritz
Chair, Board of Governors
