Pre-Yom Kippur Mindfulness Meditation with Rabbi Ben Newman

Pre-Yom Kippur Mindfulness Meditation with Rabbi Ben Newman

Thursday, September 24; 12:00 PM at the Shames JCC
By reservation only. Members $5/Non-Members $10

After 6 months of quarantine, it’s normal to feel depleted. The Jewish tradition provides spiritual tools to help us refill and replenish. Jewish mysticism (Kabbalah) envisioned humanity as a tree with roots in heaven that exists in 4 realms; the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and physical. In this understanding of life, depletion, and unease come from a lack of balance and alignment in one of these four realms.

Kabbalah outlines many techniques to help bring us back into alignment, to return to our highest selves. As the fall and the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur beckon, join Rabbi Ben outside at the JCC as he leads us through several replenishing meditations to bring us back into balance in each of the 4 realms. This will include mindfulness meditation, study,  and light movement. At the end of this session, you will come away feeling renewed and ready to take on the coming year with all of its challenges and opportunities.
