JUSTICE IN ACTION: POLICE BRUTALITY
Thursday, June 11; 2:00 – 3:00 PM

On the heels of the tragic murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and countless others, it is critical that we work to understand the systems that lead this moment in history. These systems are the same ones that have contributed to the discriminatory social distancing measures we have witnessed in NYC and the ways that Covid-19 is disproportionately impacting Black communities. On June 11th, please join us in a conversation about police reform with representatives from Communities United for Police Reform. Click here to register.

Tomorrow’s Leaders (ages 11-13)
Monday, June 15; 4:30 – 5:30 PM

Kids ages 11–13 are invited to get together virtually to learn from other kids about how race and racism play a role in our society and what they can do to help. We’ll learn about compassion, justice, and racism through age-appropriate language and ideas, and make and share protest posters that the JCC will post on our social media! CSR staff will find action opportunities to pair with the social media posts to support the kids’ ideas. Click here to register.
