Adult Swimming Courses

Have you ever dreamed about swimming in our beautiful Aquatics Center but not sure where to start? It’s never too late to learn how to swim! In the Beginner class you will learn swimming fundamentals, and more advanced swimmers will develop stroke technique and improve endurance in Intermediate and Masters Swim. Intermediate and Masters levels require prior approval.

Masters Swim Team (ages 18+)

September 15, 2025–June 30, 2026; Monday/Wednesday/Friday 5:15–6:45 am (at The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry); Tuesdays 6:45–7:45 pm (at the JCC)

Swimmers 18 and over training in competitive swim techniques under the guidance and supervision of a United States Masters Swimming Coach (Victor Penaloza/ Alexis Penaloza).

Members: $160/month (three days); $100 (any two days)
Non-members: $230/month (three days; $125 (any two days)

Aqua Cycle

Not a swimmer but love the pool? Aqua Cycle takes your workouts on land to a whole new level! Open to adults of all swimming abilities and fitness levels, this non-impact and high-intensity program emphasizes cardiovascular strength and endurance.

Please email aquatics@shamesjcc.org to register. Registration opens Monday, 12/15 for members and Wednesday, 12/17 for non-members. 

Important: Starting in January 2026, Aqua Cycle will be offered in 12-week sessions, with one flat fee for the full session. Group class packs will no longer be available for purchase. Remaining classes in class packs can be used towards the payment of an 8-week session. 

Can’t make the class? Train on your own! Aqua cycles and treads are available for rental.
