Inclusive Recreation and Arts Classes

emPOWER Fitness Class

This inclusive adaptive class will consist of functional movements mixed with cardio intervals that can be modified to meet each participant where they are physically and mentally. Our trainers have completed a specialized course that has allowed them to become certified adaptive group trainers. They will be utilizing fun movements and energizing music to engage participants and emPOWER them to feel strong in their abilities and what they offer to the world!


Introduction to Gardening

Join us for an inclusive introduction class to gardening basics led by our resident JCC gardener, Amy Payne. Learn about seasonal plants, practice preparing a garden bed, and help  plant in the JCC garden for the upcoming season


Culinary Confidence

Ages 18+
This cooking class series for adults with varying needs will be led by Amy Pane, who has worked in the food industry since 2001. Participants will prepare recipes Amy has developed and eat their creation together in a lunch setting. Participants will walk away with new cooking skills, a recipe book consisting of things made in class, a new love for cooking and food, and a new community.

CO/LAB Musical Theater Class (15 & up)

CO/LAB Theater Group’s teaching artists provide high-quality theater programs for individuals with and without disabilities. CO/LAB fosters a space where individuals have creative theater opportunities without limits and boundaries. This session, we will be focusing on ensemble theater. Ensemble theater focuses on collaboration and teamwork amongst participants.

This program is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
