Handyman / Maintenance Technician and Supervisor

The Shames JCC on the Hudson is seeking a dependable Supervisor with Handyman / Maintenance Technician skills to support the ongoing upkeep of two properties. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, general repair knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

 

Responsibilities:

•        Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance tasks throughout the property

•        Perform a variety of high-level carpentry, painting, maintenance, and construction work

•        Ability to correct infrastructure obstacles (electrical, plumbing, HVAC)

•        Repair and adjust doors, locks, and handles

•        Ability to investigate equipment failures and perform corrective measures efficiently

•        Maintain a clean and organized work environment

•        Supervise a team of 8-15 employees

•        Ability to walk, stand, bend, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, and work on ladders and move items over fifty pounds and 100 pounds with assistance

Qualifications:

•        3 years of service and maintenance experience

•        3 years of working knowledge in basic building and grounds maintenance

•        Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience

•        Ability to carry out duties and complete repairs with minimal supervision

•        Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship

•        Excellent customer service skills

•        Required to work afternoons, evenings and weekends

Salary: Base of $25/hour up to full time 40 hour a week position with industry leading benefits
