Director of Adult Programs and Services

Director of Adult Programs and Services

 

Summary:  The Director of Adult Programs and Services will lead the expansion of the JCC’s programs and services for empty-nesters and seniors, with the goal of greater participation, socialization, learning, volunteerism, cultural experience, and Jewish engagement. Portfolio of programs will include activities, experiences, and services that occur within and beyond the JCC’s campus, including options that are free of charge and fee-based, and require varying levels of commitment ranging from drop-in to enrollment in recurring programs.

Job duties and responsibilities:

·       Serve as the hub of community by building relationships with members of the JCC and helping them connect to one another.

·       Promote social, emotional, and physical well-being among the JCC’s adult population.

·       Solicit input from members of the community regarding interests and needs, and design and implement programs that respond to those interests and needs.

·       Increase overall program participation and expand community footprint.

·       Identify and coordinate opportunities for volunteerism.

·       Identify and coordinate opportunities for intergenerational programming and experiences.

·       Work with partner organizations to address transportation needs and mitigate transportation as a barrier to participation.

·       Collaborate with other managers to ensure that the needs of the adult population are met in all areas of the JCC.

·       Identify and partner with other organizations in the community who can be conduits for outreach.

·       Serve as a conduit to other organizations that provide resources and services.

·       Serve as liaison to a cohort of other JCC’s undertaking similar work, sharing ideas and identifying opportunities for collaboration.

·       Collect and track data to help inform decision-making and measure outcomes.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This can be a part or full-time position but will require no fewer than the equivalent of three days per week.

Qualifications 

·       BA required, a master’s degree in a relevant field preferred.

·       Experience working with adults and seniors.

·       Excellent relationship building and communication skills.

·       Outgoing personality and a genuine interest in people.
