Yom Ha’atzmu’at: Israel Independence Day through Competing Zionist Ideas with Rabbi Ron Symons

Monday, April 20 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Long before Israel became a modern state on May 14, 1948 and experienced the tragedy of October 7, 2023, Jews concerned about Israel discussed, argued, and fought over six different ways of defining “Zionism.” We will journey back in time to uncover these six streams anddiscuss their implications for today. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy an Israeli snack and drink a l’chayim (alcoholic and alcohol free) to continue the civil conversation as Israel celebrates its 78th year of independence.
