Through personal triumphs and creative expression, the film celebrates empowerment, representation, and the impact of role models within disabled communities. Audiences witness both the artistic journey and the broader social implications of inclusivity, accessibility, and advocacy in the music industry. With inspiring performances and candid moments, the film encourages dialogue about disability, mentorship, and the transformative potential of pursuing one’s passions against all odds.

 

WHITE NINE

SYNOPSIS

After sustaining devastating spinal cord injuries in the 1960s, three teen boys form an unbreakable bond and dedicate their lives to the independent living movement. White Nine chronicles their journey as activists fighting for civil rights, independence, and accessibility, blending archival footage, interviews, and animation. The film celebrates perseverance, solidarity, and social change, highlighting how individuals with physical disabilities transform personal adversity into collective empowerment. Audiences witness the enduring impact of advocacy, resilience, and courage, gaining insight into the historical and ongoing struggle for disability rights in the United States.

The Ark is wheelchair accessible and the film will be presented with open captions.
