From Ethiopia to Israel (at Mimi’s Coffee House in Mt. Kisco)

From Ethiopia to Israel:

Come learn about the Jewish Ethiopian Community, Beta Israel, and the Jewish Holiday of Sigd

Sigd is an Ethiopian Jewish Holiday that celebrates the evacuation of Ethiopian Jews in the midst of conflict and famine to Israel. Join us for a special conversation with Haftam, an Ethiopian Jew who herself experienced the crisis in Ethiopia and evacuation to Israel, as she shares reflections on her own experience and the cultural traditions that comprise this commemorative holiday. Sample Ethiopian coffee from Mimi’s and Haftam’s homemade traditional Ethiopian snack, kitta.

Location:

Mimi’s Coffee House
37 South Moger Avenue
Mount Kisco, NY 10549
