Famous African American Artists with Sue Altman

From colonial times to the present day, African American artists have had an impact on the art world. This course covers the artists of the Harlem Renaissance including famous names like Jacob Lawrence, Augusta Savage, Faith Ringold, and Romare Bearden, and several self-taught or outsider artists. Also included are some contemporary standouts like Kehinde Wiley, Kara Walker, and Mark Bradford.

Suzanne Altman is an artist, art educator, and art historian who teaches and lectures throughout the Hudson Valley, New Jersey, and Connecticut. She also paints out of her studio in Ossining and exhibits her paintings frequently.
