Challenging Times, Ageless Insights: Hear My Voice: Jewish Women in Biblical and Contemporary Song

March 1, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

With Cantor Lauren Phillips Fogelman, Temple Beth Abraham

Using the Biblical stories of Miriam, Deborah, and Hannah, we will explore the ways in which women are frequently linked to songs in Hebrew scripture. We will study the Biblical texts related to these women and listen to examples of liturgical and popular music that tell their stories. We will compare these stories to real-life contemporary Jewish women whose lives have also been depicted in song, on stage, and on screen.
