If you need to cancel a lesson, please send an email to Julia Borges at jborges@shamesjcc.org or aquatics@shamesjcc.org at least 24 hours in advance of the reservation. Lessons that are cancelled with at least 24 hours notice may be rescheduled at no additional charge. In the event of pool closure due to weather, make-ups will be provided if the lesson has not yet reached the halfway point when the closure begins.

COVID-19 Regulations

Due to COVID restrictions and guidelines, all swim lessons must be conducted in a way that is contact-free. Here’s what that means:

  • For the health and safety of our participants and staff, swim instructors must maintain social distance and instruct from the pool deck.
  • Children who cannot swim 25 yards without aid or stopping must have an adult 18+ in the water with them. Instructors will advise the adult on how to assist with the lesson.
  • Instructors may enter the water for demonstration purposes only but must remain at least 6′ from participants.
  • Observers are not permitted on the pool deck once the lesson starts, but caregivers of children may drop off and pick-up 5-minutes before the lesson ends.
