Private and semi-private swim lessons are available for all ages and skill levels. Interested in a semi-private lesson but don’t have a partner? Let us know your preferred day(s) and time(s), and we’ll match you with a swimmer at a similar level.

Adaptive Swim Lessons
Have you been interested in swim lessons for a child with special needs? We have swim instructors who are certified in the “Swim Angelfish methodology,” providing adaptive lessons to individuals with anxiety, attention difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder, sensory challenges, coordination problems, physical disabilities, and more. If you are interested in learning more and seeing if our instructors are the right fit for your family’s needs, contact aquatics@shamesjcc.org.

Policies & Regulations
Private Swim Lesson Policies:
Scheduling & Payment:
- All private lesson sessions must be paid in full prior to the first lesson.
- Lessons are scheduled directly with the Aquatics Office.
- All lessons will expire without refund or credit 6 months from the purchase date.
Cancellations & Rescheduling:
- If a private lesson student is unable to attend or needs to reschedule, they must contact the Aquatics Office at aquatics@shamesjcc.org
- Cancellations must be made by email or voicemail timestamped earlier than 8 a.m. on the day of the lesson. Requests received after 8 a.m. will be redeemed.
- If the instructor or JCC must cancel, the lesson will be rescheduled at no cost.
- Lessons may be rescheduled due to weather-related closures such as thunder or lightning.
- Lessons will not be rescheduled outside the confirmed day/time. Any rescheduled lesson will result in an extended completion date of the lesson pack.
- Lesson rescheduling must be requested more than 24 hours in advance of the scheduled lesson.
Late Arrivals:
- Lessons will end at the scheduled time, even if the participant arrives late.
- After 15 minutes, instructors may consider the participant a no-show and the lesson is forfeited.
Renewals:
- The Aquatics Office must be emailed for swim pack renewal when the previous pack is completed. Failure to do so will result in the loss of that swim lesson spot after one week.
- The scheduled lesson spot is guaranteed for the duration of an active pack, but renewal of the same spot depends on instructor availability for each new swim pack.
- When possible, advanced notice is given if an instructor alters their schedule so participants can be promptly reassigned.
Refunds:
- No refunds or credits are issued for unused lessons once the series has begun.
Cancellation policy
If you need to cancel a lesson, please send an email to aquatics@shamesjcc.org at least 24 hours in advance of the reservation. Lessons that are canceled with at least 24 hours’ notice may be rescheduled at no additional charge. In the event of pool closure due to weather, make-up will be provided if the lesson has not yet reached the halfway point when the closure begins. Lessons canceled in less than 24 hours or no-shows will be forfeited.
