Artist-in-Residency

Shames JCC Artist-In-Residence Program

This residency aims to support the creative work of local artists while enriching our vibrant community through creativity and shared experiences.

We invite practicing artists in all disciplines—visual arts, writing, performance, music, interdisciplinary work, and more—to apply. The residency is designed for artists who live locally (within Westchester or nearby) and can spend regular time on-site at the Shames JCC.

Residency Includes:

  • A complimentary membership to the JCC for the duration of the residency (3–6 months)
  • Limited access to shared community and programming spaces
  • An opportunity to exhibit, perform, or install your work at the JCC
  • An optional pop-up shop in our lobby
  • $500 towards materials

Artist Commitments:

  • Be a practicing artist currently engaged in a creative discipline
  • Reside locally and be able to engage regularly on-site at the JCC
  • Lead 3 community engagement activities (e.g., workshops, open studios, collaborative projects)If feasible, create a permanent or semi-permanent work that remains at the JCC

Applications will be reviewed by a small committee on a rolling basis. We encourage you to apply early, as space is limited. Start dates and duration will vary by artist.

We’re looking for artists who are excited to share their process, connect with others, and contribute to our community through their work.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
