Art, Cooking, and Theater Classes

Inclusive Collective Theater Class (Ages 16+)

This high-energy class offers acting, improv, and music games and activities, all while developing communication skills, collaboration, memory, sequencing, and gross motor coordination. Students practice working in a group, managing stage cues, and building confidence for public performance. The final showcase promotes expressive communication and community participation.

This class takes place in a public performing arts space.

Set Design for JCC on Stage (Grades 2 & Up)

Tuesdays, September 9–December 11 (No class 9/23, 11/4 or 11/11)
Members: $315; non-members: $345

Participants will explore the creative process of theatrical set design—sketching, building props, and collaborating on backdrops. This hands-on class develops fine motor skills, visual-spatial reasoning, creativity, teamwork, and basic vocational skills such as inventory tracking, material use, and safety awareness.

The program is cross-age and integrated with the JCC’s mainstage theater program.

Lunch Bunch Cooking Class (Ages 18+)

Thursdays, October 9–December 18; 12:15–1:45 pm
Members: $500; non-members: $550

In this fun, midday cooking group, participants prepare and enjoy healthy lunches while developing executive functioning, recipe-following, fine motor, kitchen safety, and independent living skills. Emphasis is placed on following multistep directions, visual-spatial organization, teamwork, and cleaning up as part of daily life skill practice.
