ALMOST SCHOOL, CLASS COUNSELOR

The Shames JCC seeks several Class Counselors to staff our new childcare program, Almost School.

Almost School will provide childcare to students (K – 5th grade) engaged in remote learning with their particular schools.  Situated at two convenient Tarrytown locations, classrooms will be well outfitted for learning as well as maintenance of health and safety.

Each Class Counselor will support a small group of children (max. class size 15) as they navigate their online learning platforms and assigned school work.  Class Counselors will be paired with a Class Leader who they will assist and support each day.  Counselors will be responsible for assisting children with their daily schedules, helping students navigate their remote learning platforms, and helping to provide a nurturing environment to students. Class counselors will also be responsible for assisting with appropriate recreational activities and ensuring adherence to Covid-19 safety protocols.

Childcare experience preferred.

Part-time and Full-time schedules available.

Salary range: $14 -$16 per hour (commensurate with skills and experience)
