Almost Home: Lead Afterschool Counselor (18+)

Almost Home is a welcoming and engaging afterschool program for children in Kindergarten through 4th grade from the Tarrytown and Irvington school districts. Our program provides a caring environment where kids can participate in a mix of classroom activities and gym time, ensuring a fun and enriching experience after the school day.

Ready to take the lead and create an unforgettable afterschool experience? As a Lead Afterschool Counselor at Almost Home, you’ll not only work hands-on with children in grades K-4, but you’ll also be the driving force behind a well-run, engaging, and fun-filled classroom.

In addition to leading activities like arts and crafts, gym games, and homework help, you’ll oversee your team of counselors, create schedules, and ensure every child is accounted for, engaged, and excited to be there. You’ll also serve as the key liaison between staff and administration, making sure daily tasks run smoothly and that each child has the best possible afterschool experience.

We’re looking for strong leaders who are organized, proactive, and passionate about working with children.

This part-time role follows the Tarrytown and Irvington school schedules, running weekdays from 2 PM – 6 PM, with additional early dismissal days and monthly training sessions. Pay Range: $17 – $18 per hour
