We provide lifeguarding, water safety, CPR (all levels), and first aid certification courses for tweens, teens, and adults of all experience levels, from professional rescuers to aspiring babysitters. Lifeguard Training
Lifeguard Training (Full Course)

Ages 15+*

The American Red Cross Lifeguard Training course provides entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over. If you love to swim, be a vital part of the community, promote safety, and want to work in a welcoming and exciting atmosphere, this is the perfect opportunity!

Lifeguard Training Course 2

A Lifeguard Level 2 training class is an advanced course designed for lifeguards who have already completed basic lifeguard training and wish to enhance their skills and knowledge. This class is ideal for experienced lifeguards seeking to advance their careers or take on more responsibilities in aquatic environments, such as head lifeguard or aquatic facility manager roles.

Saturdays: September 14, 28, October 12, 26 and November 9; 10:30am-5pm

Starguard Junior Lifeguard Prep (Ages 10-15)

Fridays, 4:30–6:30 pm; September 13–November 1

Level Up Your Swim! This course is designed for swimmers (Level 4+) to refine their strokes and gain basic rescue skills. Perfect for those interested in becoming camp counselors, lifeguards, or babysitters! Evaluation is required before registration.

Lifeguard Review (recertification course)

Before your certification expires, take a review course to get recertified! We offer one-day review courses in Lifeguarding Review, CPR/AED Pro, and First Aid.

Lifeguard Review- Blended Learning

This course takes place over several days and all aspects of the class must be completed.

This refresher helps lifeguards renew their certification and ensures they are prepared to handle emergencies efficiently and effectively. It ensures that lifeguards remain proficient in the latest lifesaving techniques and practices and typically includes: CPR and AED, first aid, water rescue techniques, emergency action plans, and physical conditioning.

First Aid and CPR/AED Classes
First AID

First aid courses are beneficial for anyone, from parents and teachers to workplace employees and community volunteers, ensuring they are prepared to respond effectively in emergency situations. This course is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide immediate care in various emergencies until professional medical help arrives. Key components of a first aid course typically include choking, wound care and bleeding, overdoses, and shock.

CPR Adult/Infant/Child & AED

This class is tailored for individuals with minimal or no medical training who need a course completion card for employment, regulatory compliance, or personal preparedness to assist loved ones. It is especially recommended (though not limited) for fitness professionals, restaurant staff, business owners, and anyone who wants to be ready for emergencies.

Key topics and training include recognizing when CPR is needed, performing effective chest compressions, using an AED machine, and assisting someone who may be choking.

CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers

Member price $125, Non-members $150

The CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers (CPRO) program equips professional-level rescuers with the skills to handle breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants until advanced medical personnel arrive. “Professional rescuer” refers to individuals with a duty to act, encompassing professions in healthcare, public safety, athletic training, and recreation, such as lifeguards. Our courses ensure you stay current with the latest techniques, enabling you to maintain certifications and provide the highest quality emergency care. The course content includes essential knowledge and skills for delivering emergency care to adults, children, and infants.

*Lifeguard Certification Prerequisites: 

  • Complete all Blended Learning before day one.
  • Candidates must:
  • Be at least 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the course.
  • Swim 300 yards, continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing.
  • Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both, but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.
  • Tread water for 2 minutes, using only the legs. Candidates should place their hands under the armpits.
  • Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds:
    • Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. Swim goggles are not allowed.
    • Surface dive, feet-first or headfirst, to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object.
    • Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface so they are able to get a breath.
    • Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • To successfully complete the Lifeguarding course, candidates must:
  • Attend the entire course and participate in all class sessions.
  • Actively participate in all course activities, including assuming various roles during scenarios.
  • Demonstrate competency in all required skills.
  • Pass the final skills scenarios.
  • Successfully pass final written exams with a minimum grade of 80%. If a participant fails to reach the minimum 80% on the final written exam, a retest is allowed using the other version of the exam, provided that the participant has passed the practical assessment.
