The Climate Crisis and Emerging Climate Technologies

In the last few years, it’s been clear to most Americans that climate change is with us already and its destructive impacts are growing. Scientists are researching ways to pull C02 out of the atmosphere and develop other new technologies to decrease climate risks. Join us to learn about these and explore the potential benefits and risks–, and how do they compare to the risks of not intervening.

About the presenter: Cynthia Scharf was the head of strategic communications and speechwriter on climate change for former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon from 2009-2016. She previously worked for the UN and numerous NGOs on emergency humanitarian relief. She and her family live in Sleepy Hollow.
