When the World was Washed Away: Noah and Other Great Flood Stories

Friday, October 16 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

This week’s Torah portion is focused on the famous flood story of Noah and all of those animals crowding the ark. We will discuss what led to this epic event and its aftermath, as well as flood stories that have been part of many world cultures.

This program is part of our Challah and Conversation series, where Rabbi Lisa Izes, Shames JCC senior director of Jewish engagement, leads interactive, guided conversations about life that weave together spirituality and a Jewish lens. Topics range from the human experience, holidays, Israel, and current events—all grounded in thoughtful discussion and a focus on our shared humanity.
