Django Reinhardt and Charlie Christian are considered some of the two founding fathers of jazz guitar. Reinhardt pioneered European Gypsy jazz on acoustic Selmer-Maccaferri guitars with fiery virtuosity, while Christian revolutionized American swing and bebop as the first major electric guitar soloist with the Benny Goodman Sextet. In this hybrid talk and performance, musicians Albert Rivera and Doug Munro will discuss and play some of their most recognizable songs and talk about their history and those they influenced.
