J Sports Academy: Lacrosse Counselor Coach
About Us: J Sports Academy is the Sports Day Camp of the Shames JCC on the Hudson, a non-sectarian community center providing meaningful experiences for individuals and families throughout their lives. Role Overview: We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Lacrosse Counselor Coaches. As a lacrosse Counselor Coach, you will play a vital role in creating a fun, safe, and educational environment for campers playing lacrosse- in addition to supporting the overall camp program. If you have a passion for lacrosse, enjoy working with children, and are excited about fostering a positive camp experience, we’d love to have you on board!
Timeline/Required Dates:
- June 20th, June 21st, and June 27th: Staff Orientation
- June 25th: Parent Orientation
- June 29th – August 14th: Camp in Session
- Monday–Friday: 8:15am–4:15pm
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure overall camper safety – physical, mental, emotional, and social health
- Design lacrosse activity plans and facilitate lacrosse activity sessions
- Collaborate with camp directors and co-counselors to carry out daily functions for campers and other camp matters
- Supervise and participate in all camper activities
- Assist in redirecting activities whenever necessary to keep children safe, engaged, and entertained
- Other duties as may be assigned
Requirements:
- Age 18 or older
- Available to work all required dates
- Experience as a high school or collegiate athlete
- Passion for working with children and playing sports
