Become an American Red Cross certified lifeguard! This course teaches the skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies plus provide professional care for breathing, cardiac, and other first-aid situations.

Lifeguard Certification Prerequisites
  • Complete all blended learning before day one.
  • Swim 300 yards, continuously using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both.
  • Tread water for 2 minutes, using only the legs.
    Complete a timed water rescue event within 1 minute, 40 seconds.
Certification Requirements

To successfully complete the lifeguarding course, candidates must:

  • Full attendance and active participation
  • Demonstrate competency in all required skills.
  • Pass the final skills scenarios.
  • Successfully pass final written exams with a minimum grade of 80%. One retest is allowed.
