In this special book club, we will be joined by author Maya Shanbhag Lang for a conversation about her memoir “What We Carry.” This book–lauded a New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice and an Amazon “Best Memoir of 2020”–explores the relationship between mothers and daughters, lies and truths, caregiving, and how we understand the people who raised us. Moderated by Fran Rosillo, participants will have the chance to hear from Maya about her process and perspective as they discuss the ways in which family stories and secrets shape us.
