Patriot Swim Team
Swim team tryouts Tuesday, September 8–Friday, September 11; 4:45-6:45 pm. Please schedule with head coach Victor Penaloza by emailing vpenaloza@shamesjcc.org. All swimmers are required to wear a swim cap.
The JCC is a partner of the Patriot Swim Team, founded in 1996. This collaboration offers training and practice groups for swimmers 18 & under at all skill levels. As a member of USA Swimming, Patriot Swim Team members have opportunities for competitions at various levels.
Head Coach Victor Penaloza leads the team, bringing over 23 years of coaching experience and currently heads the swimming and diving team at Pace University. Victor has successfully guided his swimmers to the highest levels of competition, including the Olympic trials! For questions and to inquire about tryouts, please email vpenaloza@shamesjcc.org.

2026-27 Practice Schedule
September 14, 2026–June 25, 2027
Dolphins: Ages 9 & under
Monday–Friday; 4:00–4:45 pm
A program for swimmers up to 9 who are mastering basic freestyle and backstroke while building confidence, teamwork, and a love for the sport.

Junior: Ages 10–12
Monday–Friday; 4:00–5:30 pm
Aimed at 10–13 year-olds who solidify all four strokes, refine technique, and develop purpose-driven training and teamwork

Senior Prep
Monday–Friday; 4:45–6:45 pm
For dedicated swimmers 12 and older (with exceptional younger swimmers considered), focusing on endurance, race strategy, and advancing toward Silver-level goals.

For swimmers 13 and older training to compete at Silver level and beyond, emphasizing high-level technique, endurance, and leadership.
