Helen Berni

Co-Director of River Friends Day Camp

Helen Berni is an experienced and enthusiastic educator with a long history and diverse background of working with children of all ages. During the school year, Helen works at Ardsley Middle School, where she serves as an ELA teacher, and Ardsley High School, where she serves as head cheerleading coach. She is truly dedicated to her team and has taken them to summer camps where she developed and led team-building and cheer activities. In addition to her high-school coaching, Helen coaches cheerleading clinics for younger children. Helen has a true passion for working with children, beginning with her first babysitting job and continuing throughout her education which includes an undergraduate degree from Hunter College, Masters from Lehman College, and Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership from SUNY New Paltz. Helen has fond memories of attending camp when she was young and she is ready to be your children’s number one cheerleader this summer!

Important: beginning Monday, November 29, the Shames JCC will be requiring all Members and Guests to be vaccinated. Masks will become optional with certain restrictions in select children's programming. Please read the full announcement for complete details.
