Aqua Cycling

June 18 – August 19 (no class July 4; make-up will be scheduled)

Aqua Cycling utilized stationary bikes underwater at waist level, allowing the rider to pedal against the resistance of the water, creating a significantly better workout.

Burn twice the calories in half the time with this new 9 week program open for all swimming abilities and fitness levels.

9 classes meeting 1x/week

Basketball: Men’s League (Adults 21+)

Begins June 18 (Game schedule sent in advance of first game)

Join our competitive men’s basketball league! Come as a free agent or with your own team of 7 to 10 players, and we will outfit you with team jerseys for a 6 game season plus playoffs (all teams make the playoffs). Games feature 2 referees, a scorekeeper, stat book and our score tracking website (no formal coaching or practice sessions; game play only).

6 Games: Mondays and/or Wednesdays between 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Card & Game Room

Tuesdays, 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Enjoy time with good friends or new acquaintances in our card and game room. Cards and a variety of board games are available. Members and their accompanying guests may drop-in anytime between 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Stay for three minutes or all three hours – the door is open!

Engage Jewish Service Corps

ENGAGE volunteers come together at diverse locations to provide community service. Days and times vary.

ENGAGE in Knitting: an ongoing group of knitters who meet monthly and also knit/crochet at home and donate their items to domestic shelters, hospitals, and community centers

ENGAGE in Song: includes rehearsals and sing-alongs to bring music and songs to children and elderly

ENGAGE Volunteer Opportunities: participate in group service projects at various times and locations in Westchester

Monday’s Second Act: Craft with Linda Paver

Mondays (June 25; July 9, 16, 23)
12:30 PM – 2:00 PM
No registration required. $5 materials fee due upon participation. FREE for ENGAGE Volunteers.

Drop-in and try a new craft. Beginners welcome. Every project looks wonderful. Go home with a finished project or arrangement.

Wonders in Watercolor with Renee Shamosh

Take the mystery out of watercolor painting! Young adults and young at heart (ages 16 to 99), and all experience levels welcome. Class focuses on each student’s personal needs and goals, and includes demonstration, painting, and critique. Supply list provided upon registration.

Health & Wellness Series: One Step at a Time Fitness Walks

Join Assistant General Manager of Fitness, Lisa Bruskin, for a robust walk and expert talk along the Hudson River. Learn about fitness, walking techniques, general nutrition, hydration, and what you should know about exercising outdoors.

Count your steps and make your steps count! Please make sure to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, water, and hat or visor, and wear sneakers.

All are welcome! Free to Shames JCC Members and Non-members.

Krav Maga with Gil Woodbridge (Ages 16+)

Krav Maga is a military self-defense and fighting system developed for the Israeli army; it incorporates techniques from Boxing, Wrestling, Aikido, Judo, Karate, and more. It provides participants with a real workout and development of meaningful self-defense skills.

Masters Swimming: Improve Stoke Mechanics, Endurance, and Strength

From triathlon training to just getting back into the swim of things, Masters Swimming can help you achieve your goals!

Enjoy a group swim with on-deck coaches that lead set workouts designed to improve skills, endurance, and strength. Individuals of all swimming abilities are welcome including those interested in competitive fitness, those looking to add intensity to their workout, and those aiming to improve their skills in freestyle, butterfly, backstroke, and breaststroke.

Men’s Club

Retired professionals and executives enjoy fellowship, stimulating lectures and performances, and a healthy exchange of ideas over coffee and bagels.

No advance registration required. Both men and women are welcome as guests. JCC membership and $65 annual club dues required for ongoing attendance.
