Inclusion Programs for Teens & Adults (Ages 13 – 35)

SHADE (Sleepy Hollow Academy for Disability Education)

SHADE is a social group that provides recreational and community building activities. Some of the programs include Washington Irving Warriors, Tuesday Teens, and Friday Drop-In. General education student participation adds energy and positive role models to the program. This partnership between the JCC and Tarrytown Public Schools provides opportunities for people of various ages.

Made possible through grants from the J.E. and Z.B. Butler Foundation, Kids Club, Westchester Community Foundation, Hudson Valley DDSO, and the Union Free School District of the Tarrytowns.

Teens and young adults can come and hang out, cook, socialize & make friends in our model apartment located at 43 Wildey Street, Tarrytown, NY. Co-ed.

Keeping it REAL in The Neighborhood (KIRTN)

KIRTN is a collaborative project of the JCC on the and the Tarrytown Union Free School District. Through after-school and weekend offerings, KIRTN makes a real commitment to preparing our folks with special needs for the adult world. By enabling peer group development, emotional growth, learning and practicing life skills, and providing opportunities to engage with the wider community, KIRTN offers a place to belong. Our “model apartment” is at 43 Wildey Street in Tarrytown.

These programs are made possible through grants from Westchester Community Foundation, Kids Club, the J.E. and Z.B. Butler Foundation, Hudson Valley DDSO, and the Union Free School District of the Tarrytowns.

Saturday & Sunday in the Neighborhood, FEE: $450

Teens and young adults ages 13-21 can join us in our model apartment in Tarrytown to work on communication skills, life skills an make friends in this drop off program.

Not 18 years old yet and want to meet lifelong friends and have a good time? Then we welcome you to join us while going bowling, to the movies, out to dinner and more.

Summer Program & Teen Training Opportunity at Camp Twelve Trails

Camp Twelve Trails is an inclusive day camp that supports children/teens with mild to moderate neurodevelopmental disorders including autism, ADHD, intellectual developmental disabilities, apraxia and others.  With more than ten fields and four pools, the Henry Kaufman Camp Grounds – Pearl River, provides versatile and adaptable spaces for a multitude of fun, engaging, and stimulating activities.  Find more information here: Camp Twelve Trails
