A Taste of Camp

Ages 2 – 16 with their parents
Sunday, February 3, 2019; 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Free for Members and Non-members/ Gymnasium

Join us for this non- traditional camp fair for families where kids participate in activities and get a real “taste” of the camp experience. Over 15 camps will be represented (day camps, travel camps, and overnight camps). We will also have an expert-led discussion panel for parents on the power and impact of camping, advice on preparing one’s child for camp,  and selecting the correct camp. MLK Day of Service– FULL

Adults, Teens and Children with parent/caregiver
Monday, January 21, 2019, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM / Gymnasium

On Monday, January 21, 2019, thousands of New Yorkers will join in a region-wide day of service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Volunteers will give back in meaningful ways – packing meals, revitalizing community spaces, engaging in social advocacy, and much more.Register to be one of 150 volunteers at the Shames JCC—adults, teens, and children—who will come together to package 600 emergency kits, known as BLIZZARD BOXES, which will be given to local senior centers and food pantries. Knitters and crocheters are also invited to make blankets for the teens in residence at The Jewish Board, Hawthorne Campus. Space is limited. Registration is required.
