Teens, ages 13 – 18, can build strong bones and lean muscle.  Both of these will serve them well later in life as strong bones are less likely to fracture and lean muscle burns calories at a higher rate than other muscles.  This can lead to a healthier self-image and a better life outlook.  Additionally, youth who exercise experience better sleep, enabling them to better cope with daily challenges, both mental and physical.  Establishing healthy habits prior to adulthood increases the chances of carrying them through life. Exercising during teenage years lays a foundation for future health.  Exercise with us at the JCC!

Join us in the fitness center for this high energy, cross training workout.  This class will include the use of our Queenax Bridge, battle ropes, TRX, Kettlebells, and more!  Improve your cardiovascular system, maximize your muscular endurance and build strength.

Cycle Studio

Specifically tailored for pre-teen and teenage cyclists, this indoor class is a great cardiovascular workout. Pedal through hill climbs, sprints, and other challenging drills and exercises. All levels are welcome.

Mind Body Studio

Its Zumba especially designed for pre-teen and teenage participants!  Latin-inspired, cardio-dance workout to reach maximum calorie burn. The upbeat music and easy-to-follow dance moves will encourage cardiovascular health and weight loss.

 

Small Group Training

Ages 15-Adult
Small Group Training is a fun, motivational, and challenging and is an effective way to reach your goals. Each session focuses on a specialized format designed with the knowledge and expertise to motivate you in a small group setting.  Choose one or all of our small group training programs!

Kettlebell exercises build strength and endurance, particularly in the lower back, legs, and shoulders, and increase grip strength. Kettlebell exercises are in their nature holistic; therefore they work several muscles simultaneously and may be repeated continuously for several minutes or with short breaks. They can offer improved mobility, range of motion, agility, cardiovascular endurance, mental toughness and increased strength.

Learn to roll! This unique class will teach you a series of self-myofascial release techniques. When you muscles are tight and lose elasticity and this causes pain and loss of mobility, this class will help decrease that pain, improve recovery time, increase range of motion and flexibility and enhance muscle power.

MES (Medical Exercise Specialist) Training

Ages 15-Adult

Medical Exercise Specialists have the knowledge and skills to work with clients with a wide range of medical conditions and require “medical exercise” or post-rehab exercise. Clients who have been referred to a fitness professional after completion of a rehabilitation program can work with a MES to tailor a fitness program to their particular medical condition. Our MES’s are trained to develop safe and effective conditioning programs for clients with musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, neurological or metabolic disorders.

One-hour sessions may be purchased in packages of 5 or 10, or as single-sessions.
