Small Group Training

Designed for Shames JCC Members only, Small Group Training is a fun, motivational, and challenging and is an effective way to reach your goals. Each session focuses on a specialized format designed with the knowledge and expertise to motivate you in a small group setting. Golf Conditioning

Ages 15 – Adult

Looking to better prepare your body for the upcoming golf season? Think your game could benefit from some golf-specific exercises? Join Golf Fitness Specialist, and former NCAA Division-1 Golf Team Captain, Jeremy Troy in a one-hour weekly session tailored to helping your golf game. These weekly sessions will focus on improving mobility, stabilization, and strength that will surely translate to better scores on the golf course.

Golf and/or fitness experience not required.

Better Balance

Practice being unsteady to become steadier on your feet. Rehearse strategies to resist a fall and recover your equilibrium from a” misstep”. This important program will focus on improving your balance by developing core, postural stability and lower body strength. You’ll also learn a variety of fun drills to improve your reaction time as another way to avoid a stumble or bumping into things. By practicing regularly these exercises are designed to progressively challenge you so you will become more confident and therefore less likely to fall.

 

Healthy Back – Align the Spine

Learn how to manage back pain by strengthening your core, elongating muscle fiber and self-massage techniques.  Join Deirdre Pachon, ACE, AFAA and EXOS Fitness Specialist to improve your posture and re-align your spine.

MES (Medical Exercise Specialist) Training

Ages 15-Adult

Medical Exercise Specialists have the knowledge and skills to work with clients with a wide range of medical conditions and require “medical exercise” or post-rehab exercise. Clients who have been referred to a fitness professional after completion of a rehabilitation program can work with a MES to tailor a fitness program to their particular medical condition. Our MES’s are trained to develop safe and effective conditioning programs for clients with musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, neurological or metabolic disorders.

One-hour sessions may be purchased in packages of 5 or 10, or as single-sessions.
