Join Scribble Art Workshop at the Shames JCC! During this engaging mini camp, we’ll complete two high quality & layered art pieces exploring a wealth of materials and artistic methods. We’ll start by creating self-portraits with collaged facial features using ink and other painting tools! Then, we’ll work on a found object print, experimenting with color mixing and printing methods; using both man-made and natural found objects.

We’ll start by drawing, inking and painting our own original maps (with both real and imaginary elements). Then, we’ll work on a mandala relief print, experimenting with color mixing using a variety of different types of paint.

Weather Cancellation Policy:
Scribble Art Workshop Mini Camp will run whether it is sunny and beautiful, hot and sticky, or lightly raining. In the event of very heavy rain and/or thunder storms, the program will be cancelled and credits/refunds will not be provided.

What to Bring to Camp
  • Water Bottle
  • Snack
  • Wear weather appropriate, comfortable clothes that can get messy
  • Wear a mask until activity begins and you are at least 6′ away from others
  • Smile (even under the mask!)

Each camper will be provided with their own set of art supplies.

What Parents Need To Know

What measures are in place to help protect campers from COVID-19?

  • Scribble Art Workshop Mini Camp will be held outdoors under a large canopy. Participation will be limited to ensure at least 6′ distance between campers under the activity canopy.
  • Each camper will be situated at their own table and each table will be spaced at least 6 feet from all other tables.
  • Every camper will be provided with their own set of supplies.
  • All campers must wear masks prior to, and immediately following, activity. During the course of this program, while maintaining at least 6 feet of distance from all other individuals, camper masks will be optional.
  • Instructors will maintain at least 6ft of distance from campers. In any and all circumstances when the instructor cannot maintain 6 feet of distance from a camper, the instructor shall wear a mask.
  • The camp Activity Area will be cleaned and disinfected before and after camp each day.
  • Indoor restrooms will be closed; Temporary outdoor restrooms are available for camper use.
  • Water fountains are not available; Please have your camper BYO water bottle.
  • Anyone who enters our campus must pass a COVID-19 health screening.
  • The Shames JCC has a no-tolerance policy with regard to following our COVID procedures.  Any participant who does not follow COVID procedures will be asked to leave the JCC campus immediately, and not return until the pandemic is fully resolved.

 

Do I need to do anything before camp begins?

  1. Register! Spaces are limited.
  2. When you reserve online, you will be asked to sign a Shames JCC policy document acknowledging your understanding of our COVID-19 policies and procedures, and liability waiver for a minor.
  3. Download the free LiveSafe Mobile App on your mobile phone. Click here for details. You only have to download this app once.
  4. Take the LiveSafe Mobile App health screening questionnaire EVERY TIME you prepare to visit the Shames JCC TWICE– once for yourself and once for your child.
  5. Arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for a heath screening and sign in.

 

What should I expect when I  arrive at the Shames JCC?

What should I know about drop off?

  1. When you enter our campus, stop at Health Screening Station for in-car, no-touch temperature check (You should have already taken the LiveSafe Mobile App health screening questionnaire.)
    If your receive a green light (pass), park & proceed to the Information Station
    If you receive a red light (fail), you will be asked to leave the Shames JCC campus
  2. Accompany your child to the Information Station to sign in
  3. Encourage your child to use the temporary restroom facilities, if needed, before camp begins
  4. Proceed with your child to the camp Activity Area and wait for an instructor to begin
  5. While you are waiting, READ the signs with specific instructions for camp
  6. Once the instructor takes attendance, you can return to your vehicle

How does pick up work?

  1. Before you pick up your child, take the LiveSafe Mobile App health screening questionnaire
  2. Stop at Health Screening Station for in-car, no-touch temperature check when you enter the Shames JCC campus
  3. Sign In at the Information Station
  4. Proceed to the camp Activity Area & sign your child out with the instructor
  5. Help your child collect their belongings and accompany your child to your vehicle
