Inclusive Visual Arts, Performing Arts, and Cooking Classes

CO/LAB Musical Theater Class (16 & up)

7 Sundays, 2:15-3:45; October 8–November 19

In this customized class, CO/LAB Theater Group’s teaching artists provide high-quality theater programs for older teens and adults with varying ability levels. These seven weeks will focus on musical theater. This class would be great for any individual who has an interest in singing, dancing, or acting.

Mosaic Class with Kit (18+)

October 6–October 27, Fridays; 11:30–12:30 pm

Join Art Therapist Kit Demirdelen for this mosaic workshop class. Throughout the 4 week class, Kit will introduce the easy and fun art of mosaic-making. Participants will learn to plan, design, and create a beautiful, functional mosaic of their own. Kit has created this class to be engaging, supportive, and creative for adults with all levels of abilities.

Who is Kit Demirdelen? Kit is a local artist living in Hastings on Hudson, NY. With a background in art therapy, Kit has extensive experience working with individuals who have special needs. She is very excited to offer this intentional and meaningful workshop at the J!

Inclusive Cooking Class

October 5–November 2, Thursdays; 12:30–2:00 pm

This cooking class series for adults with varying needs will be led by Amy Pane, who has worked in the food industry since 2001. She is very excited to share her passion for cooking and gardening with JCC members and has developed the recipes we will explore in this class. Participants will prepare recipes Amy has developed and eat their creation together in a lunch setting. The hope is participants will walk away with new cooking skills, a recipe book consisting of things made in class, a new love for cooking and food, and a new community.
