SUMMARY:Group Outing: A Jewish Journey Through Revolutionary Philadelphia
DESCRIPTION:Bus departs JCC at 9:00 am and returns around 9:00 pm\n$150 members; $165 non-members \nCelebrate America’s 250th birthday with a meaningful day trip to Philadelphia\, where Jewish history and the American Revolution come to life. \nOur day begins with a tour and lunch at the historic Congregation Mikveh Israel\, the nation’s oldest continually-used synagogue. Afterwards\, we’ll walk through the nearby Old City with historian (and world-famous Ben Franklin impersonator!) Mitchell Kramer\, who makes Revolutionary-era Philadelphia come alive Then we’ll enjoy a private\, docent-led tour at the Weitzman Museum of American Jewish History. Our full day ends with stories and reflections over a relaxed\, Mediterranean dinner at Estia Restaurant. \nThis experience includes round-trip transportation from the J by comfortable coach bus\, all admission fees\, lunch\, and a 3-course dinner. Please note: while there are opportunities to sit\, participants should be comfortable walking between nearby sites. \nSchedule: \n8:00 am: Bus leaves JCC \n11:00 am: Arrive at Congregation Mikveh Israel for tour \n12:00 pm: Kosher lunch in synagogue social hall \n12:45 pm: Walking tour of Old City \n3:00 pm: Tour at Weitzman Museum \n4:30 pm: Short bus ride to dinner \n5:00 pm: Dinner at Estia \n6:30 pm: Depart Philadelphia \n8:45 pm: Arrive at the JCC \nRegister
