Renard Lecture: The Golden Section and its Role in Art, Architecture, and Nature

“The Golden Section,” also known as the “Golden Ratio,” is considered to be a curiosity of mathematics. Maybe it should be considered aesthetics. Either way, it displays the universal beauty embedded in art and nature as well as in numbers.  Math phobic’s take heart and experience the rush of math shattering its cocoon.

Wally Glickman is an emeritus professor of physics at Long Island University. His interests include the history and philosophy of physics, poetry and Tai Chi. He has offered courses on Einstein and at the Learning Collaborative of Rockland County.  He is the director of the film “Reflections of Einstein.”

Please note: Doors open at 9:30 am
