Renard Lecture: Two Unlikely Jews and the UN Vote to Create Israel

The exploits of two twentieth century American Jews, Moe Berg and “Two-Gun” Cohen, would not be believable if they were merely fiction. And yet they happened! In this lecture, we will learn about the two and the adventurers they underwent. In addition, we will discuss the 1947 UN vote for the partition of Palestine that led to the creation of the State of Israel and the contributions of Berg and Cohen to the outcome.

Marty Cohen, of Tappan, lectures on Jewish History, Bible, Science, and Civilization at the JCC of West Nyack, The Learning Collaborative, Synagogues and Culture Clubs.
