Renard Lecture: Pagliacci – A Clown Tragedy

Pagliacci is wonderful opera about the eternal love of a famous clown for his wife and his discovery of her unfaithfulness. The opera is world famous and many great tenors, like Enrico Caruso, have sung its thrilling music. Recorded music will enhance Dr. Elkins’ talk.

Irwin Elkins is a musicologist with an extensive collection of opera recordings. He teaches courses in opera appreciation and is a lifelong opera buff.  He created, and manages, the Omega Opera Archive website.
